Episode 7 – George Bailey – Delegate and Focus
George Bailey is the president of zPods, a Saint Louis startup that is developing sensory-friendly beds for children with autism. He is also the CMO of Vanguard International Advisory Group, a small but agile consultancy that focuses on strategic planning. He has previous work experience in financial services.
George obtained his JD from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, where he worked in the school’s intellectual property and nonprofit organization clinic. Upon graduation, he received the Dean’s Service Award for his extensive pro bono service in the Saint Louis community. He also belongs to the Order of Barristers for excellence in oral advocacy and brief writing skills.
Prior to attending law school, George was a language instructor for nine years and has taught courses in Mandarin Chinese, Danish, and English. In his final year of instruction, he received the Wolfgang Mittermeier Award for Excellence in Academic Teaching from Justus-Liebig-Universität Giessen in Germany, where he taught for three years. George attended Brigham Young University, where he obtained a BA in Mandarin Chinese and an MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.
George is involved in the St. Louis community through his church. He also sits on the board of directors for the Asian American Chamber of Commerce of St. Louis and the St. Louis chapter of Autism Speaks. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, German, and Danish. George is married and has five children—two of which are blessed with autism.
